Where can I find?

Where can I find the crosswords? The crossword puzzle that appears in the print edition of the Daily News is not available for us to use on our Web site. Our crossword page (http://www.naplesnews.com/crossword/) has two online crossword puzzles, links to more printable puzzles and a link to the Los Angeles Times Web site for readers who specifically enjoy that puzzle.

I saw an article in the print edition and I can't find it on naplesnews.com. The print edition carries articles from many other newspapers and wire services, most of which we don't post to naplenews.com. Please look closely at the byline on the story. If the article wasn't written by a Daily News staff member or correspondent, it's not going to be available online. The very best way to find a particular column is to go to an Internet search engine, such as Yahoo or Google, and type in the first few words of the first sentence. I'll guarantee that this article is available in dozens, if not hundreds of other places. You can also use our ePaper (http://www.naplesnews.com/epaper) to find articles.

Is Celebrity Cipher available online? No. The syndicate that publishes the Celebrity Cipher has chosen to not make that feature available online anywhere and expressly forbids newspapers from using the feature on their Web sites.

I want to read Dr. Gott. Dr. Gott’s daily health column is not available on naplesnews.com or marconews.com because we don’t have the rights to publish his columns on our Web sites. Click here for a Google News search for Dr. Gott's columns.

Order a photo reprint
  • GREAT NEWS! Ordering reprints of the fantastic photos shot by our award-winning visual journalists just got a whole lot easier! Any photo taken by a Daily News staff member - whether it runs in print or on our Web site - is available for purchase.
  • Just click the "BUY NOW" button located underneath the photo caption when viewing photos on our Web site. Photos available for purchase will AUTOMATICALLY have the the "BUY NOW" link available.
  • You can also use our photo archive, available here, to view each day's photos as they were published in the Daily News.
  • If you see a photo in the print edition of the Daily News which you can't find online - and you believe it should be available for purchase, please contact Multimedia News Editor Tim Aten at 239-263-4857 or Managing Editor-Digital Jonathan Utz at 239-435-3483.
  • PLEASE NOTE that we cannot reproduce images copyrighted by other newsgathering organizations. This includes ALL photos taken by the Associated Press, The New York Times News Service, the St. Petersburg Times, Cox News Service and others.
Archive & Search

The seven-day-archive is no longer available. It was a feature specific to the version of the publishing software used previously on our site. Please use our SEARCH ENGINE to find stories.

There is still an archive at naplesnews.com/news where users can filter stories by year/month/day if they so desire.

SEARCH TIPS
  • You will get better results if you search for the name of a person in the story, any combination of words or even a single word.
  • At this time, users CANNOT search for individual writers by their bylines.
  • Material from wire services and other newspapers WILL NOT appear on naplesnews.com. This includes the Associated Press, the New York Times, the St. Petersburg Times and Cox News Service.
  • The Daily News CANNOT reprint Dr. Gott. This Google search has a list of recent Dr. Gott columns.
ePaper Troubleshooting

One of the things that we've discovered is that users with any sort of pop-up blocker installed on their computer will not be able to view the ePaper. We are working with the vendor that prepares the ePaper to help us alert customers when this occurs.

If you can't view the ePaper, please take these steps:
  • You must have a naplesnews.com account to view the ePaper.
  • Disable any pop-up blockers running on your computer.
  • The ePaper is not compatible with the Safari browser for Apple computers.
  • Make sure that you are logged in to your naplesnews.com account and you are accessing the ePaper from http://www.naplesnews.com/epaper - you CANNOT bookmark the actual pages.
  • America Online (AOL) users should connect to the Internet via AOL, then launch a separate Web browser to view the ePaper.
  • AOL users may also need to turn off AOL's proprietary 'TOPSPEED' Web optimizer. You may easily adjust these settings by clicking the TOPSPEED button that appears at the bottom left of the Web browser window.

Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties. Coyotes have killed three small dogs, injured three others, and caused a man who came into contact with the coyote’s saliva and a woman who was bitten by one to have rabies shots.
