The Southwest Florida Hawks 11-and-under travel baseball team finished second at the AAU Sarasota Shootout last weekend. By finishing runner-up at the event, the Hawks took over first place in the AAU's state-wide Ice Division.

Naples equestrian Jennifer Bate and her horse Mytoi Bask W +// traveled over 2,500 miles to Regina, Saskatchewan, to compete in the 51st Annual Canadian National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championships “The Royal Red.” Each year the Royal Red attracts more than riders from across the United States and Canada who have qualified for the premier competition.

Sports News for Kids: Naples Gators teams go 2-3 over weekend

The Naples Gators faced off against Kendall Boys Club on Saturday at Fleischmann Park and came away with two victories. The Gators 90-pound team held off Kendall in the closing minutes, winning 6-2, evening their record at 1-1 on the season. The 105-pound Gators blanked Kendall 20-0, also moving to 1-1 on the year.
