The Lee County Sheriff's Office is reporting it has received several phone calls recently about a crime prevention group stating they are working with the LCSO. The caller claims the LCSO has requested that they contact an association, group, or neighborhood to talk about crime prevention.
The LCSO's fraud unit reports that the agency does not and will not ask any individual or company to conduct crime prevention programs on its behalf.
If you are approached by someone claiming that the Sheriff’s Office or the Police Department wants us to talk to you or is working on our behalf please take a moment and call us first to check it out. You can call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Community Relations line at 239-477-1477 or the Fraud Line at 239-477-1242.
To schedule a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Specialist to talk to your group about any number of programs please call us at 239-477-1477 or you may email us at CommunityRelations@sheriffleefl.org.
