NAPLES The Ave Maria University men's soccer team won games on Friday and Saturday to even its record at 4-4-1 on the season.
The Gyrenes beat Johnson & Wales, 3-2, at home on Friday night, then won at Florida College in Temple Terrace, 2-1, on Saturday.
Against Johnson & Wales, Golden Gate High School graduate Damian Coliqueo scored three goals, giving him seven on the season. Coliqueo's first goal was unassisted, and Carlos Fuentes and Michael Assibey assisted on the others.
No information was available from Saturday's game. The Gyrenes are off until Oct. 25 when they are scheduled to play Hodges University.
The volleyball team lost at Saint Thomas University, 3-1, on Saturday night. The loss was the seventh straight for the Gyrenes (5-17), who hadn't won in a set in the previous six losses. The Gyrenes are scheduled to play Florida Christian College and Mount State University in Kissimmee on Thursday, then face Trinity College at home at 3 p.m. this Saturday.
No result was available from the women's soccer team's game at Florida College on Saturday.
