Le Gourmet Chef wonderful place to shop
Posted September 3, 2008
No matter if you pop stuff out of a box or truly enjoy cooking as I do, you will find some interesting things to zip up a meal at Le Gourmet Chef.
Tom Pouiliatus is the manager of this new store at Miromar Outlets. It is owned by the same company as Kitchen Collections based in Chillicothe, Ohio, but said this store is quite different. He carries 5,500 different items with 52 different areas set up in the store.
For instance if you wanted Asian food you will find it all in one section along with things you need to prepare it such as woks and those cute little dishes to serve it on complete with chop sticks.
Or, the coffee section has a nice selection of coffee products along with coffee makers and mugs. If tea is your fancy you will find a selection of tea with tea bag holders, tea pots of a large variety, lemon honey sticks and honey pots with dippers. It makes it very easy to shop the way the store is set up.
Pouiliatus boasts of all the many gourmet products that will enhance whatever you are cooking, like The Barefoot Contessa's Indonesian Ginger Marinade, yummy!
There is a huge variety of dips, jellies, jams, hot sauces, salsas, spices and dressings. How about Firedance Jalapeno Nuts? I bet those would really make you dance!
Besides all the gourmet items, Le Gourmet Chef carries name brands: Calphalon, Kitchen Aid, and Cuisinart. There is a whole wall of gadgets, that's where I get stuck ... I love those things!
Le Gourmet Chef carries the best of knives, Henckles and Wustof. There is nothing like a sharp knife, every kitchen needs one. I have a whole collection of Henckles I wouldn't part with.
I liked all the sections. For the wine enthusiast find many products from wine glasses in every description, bar caddy's, mixers, corkscrews, coasters, the list goes on.
For the next party how about a chocolate fountain, it is always a hit at my house. The kids would love the popcorn cart or personal vending machine. There were hot air poppers, gourmet popcorn and four popcorn cheeses to top it off.
Silicone is a big seller this year with everything from brushes and spatulas in several sizes, to baking pans and collapsible colanders and strainers.
Some of the special items I saw was an ice-less deviled egg keeper that keeps your eggs cold for up to four hours, $19.99 or the non-stick double griddle at $39.99. There was also a section of cast iron skillets like my mom used to cook with.
Pouiliatus said the Debbie Meyer Green Bags are a big hit and really work. You get 20 re-usable bags for $9.99. No postage!
So wander in the next time you are at Miromar, you'll be surprised at all the great things you can find here! Bon appetite!
